The signing of code-sharing agreements between airlines is common practice that allows them to expand their network of destinations and provides the user with links. But it was something exclusive commercial aviation sector. Now this type of agreement jumps beyond their formal boundaries and becomes reality with the agreement between an airline and a company of high-speed trains.
The actors are Jet Airways, Brussels Airlines and Thalys train, which just established a shared code for passengers to access the Brussels airport from France. This is possible thanks to a combined ticket that allows you to arrive by plane to Paris and then catch a Thalys train du Nord Station to South Station in the Belgian capital, which is located at only 17 kilometers from the airport.
The journey time is between 1 hour and 47 minutes and constitutes an interesting alternative to air. The ticket is available for sale, although the journey will start from October 30.
Nikos Kardassis, CEO of the Indian airline, welcomed this new customer offerings, ” Jet Airways has constantly innovated to set new benchmarks and our agreement with the high speed Thalys train is to travel different solution.”
